Bookspot Central interview

November 13th 2008 at 1:23 pm

Jay Tomio at Bookspot Central has an interview with me up:
Jay Tomio - I always get the feeling that with Pepper no matter what the backdrop, be it a jungle adventure, a space opera, or on exotic islands that we are seeing a Leonesque Western figure - is there any truth to that and are […]

Reviews roundup

November 7th 2008 at 7:50 am

Reader Ron Avitzur emailed me this picture of himself as climbs a rock wall in Berkeley while reading Sly Mongoose…
Don D’Ammassa gives a short review of Sly Mongoose, calling it “beautifully written and thoroughly engrossing.”
Paul Abbamondi reviews Sly Mongoose on his LiveJournal:
Buckell has the pacing strength of an avalanche, jamming in action and development […]

Listen to Resistance

October 27th 2008 at 12:30 pm

My short story Resistance is podcast over at Escape Pod, read by Stephen Eley.
David Batista just reviewed Crystal Rain from the POV of a Caribbean reader.
I can see why some readers might have a problem with the characters in Buckell’s world speaking in the manner that they do. For someone not used to the Caribbean’s […]

Metatropolis homepage

October 23rd 2008 at 4:31 pm

Audible.com set up this super fancy flash-based website home page for Metatropolis. It’s groovy. I tend to knock on Flash a lot, but it loads quick and stays out of my way (of course, I’m biased by all the pretty related to a project *I* worked on, so don’t mind me). There is no waiting […]

Locus interview snippet

Amazon updates Halo: The Cole Protocol page with some back copy

October 22nd 2008 at 11:14 am

Someone just dropped me a line that the Amazon.com page for Halo: The Cole Protocol now has back copy:
In the first, desperate days of the Human-Covenant War, the UNSC has enacted the Cole Protocol to safeguard Earth and its Inner Colonies from discovery by a merciless alien foe. Many are called upon to rid the […]

Metatropolis is go

October 21st 2008 at 10:45 am

The audio anthology Metatropolis is live. Featuring novellas by John Scalzi, Karl Schroeder, Jay Lake, Elizabeth Bear, and little ole’ me!
I’m truly psyched to have been part of this project that John Scalzi cooked up. Creating the stories, and riffing off each other, was a great deal of authorly fun.

Podcast interview goodness

October 8th 2008 at 11:29 am

I’ve been falling behind on linkage, been a scattered last week and weekend, but I’m pulling ahead. I have two podcast interviews to point you at, for the interested:
The first is SciFi Dimensions interview with me. John Snider was really awesome, and I thought we had a great interview that covered all sorts of ground.
John […]
