Last year we had:
This late May’s big project will be to dig up the flagstone cracks and fill them with a putty I found out about that will hopefully stop the weeds that come up between them, which have been my personal nightmare.
The main bed of the house front has been a weed-harboring nightmare when not mulched, so I began to grow pink chintz creeping thyme. Looks pretty and smells nice when walked on. June 2011:
It needs watered, a bit brown due to lack of it, but it’s very drought hardy and I’ve been able to be lazy to it. It’s just about to start thinking about flowering, so I can’t wait to see what that looks like this year.
If the budget can handle it, I’ll be buying some for the other side of the house and filling in gaps on this side to get it to cover everything.
Thus will my ‘low maintenance but colorful’ front of house project be accomplished over the next couple of years.
