2009 Award Pimping

(Cuz all the cool kidz are doing it too). For the curious, I do have some award eligible work this year. 2008, I think, was a banner year in short stories in addition to the two novels. For the curious:

Novel:

Sly Mongoose (you can read the first third free at link)

Novella:

Stochasti-city in METAtropolis (iTunes link)

Short Story:

Mitigation (w/ Karl Schroeder) – Fast Forward 2 (Fall, 2008)
Resistance – Seeds of Change (Summer, 2008) (FREE READ: read it here, listen to audio)
The People’s Machine – Sideways in Crime (Summer, 2008) (FREE READ: read it here)
Manumission – Baen’s Universe (April, 2008) (1/2 free read: read the first 1/2 here)

note: now that its period of exclusivity is up, I released The People’s Machine under a non-commercial creative commons license.

Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form (for your Hugo consideration):

METAtropolis (audio book (iTunes link), written by Tobias Buckell, Elizabeth Bear, Jay Lake, John Scalzi and Karl Schroeder; read by Scott Brick, Michael Hogan, Alessandro Juliani, Kandyse McClure and Stefan Rudnicki)

And I should add, as always, your support and votes in the past, and any in the future, have always been surprising and appreciated and are amazing and I thank you all that do vote for me. I’ve been lucky to have such great readers and to have been nominated for what awards I’ve been.

Also complicating that is fact that Thalia needs to be home tommorow since she has a cold: cough, runny nose, mild fever. 5 hrs ago

I fell asleep at 7:30pm and woke up at 12:30 due to coughing kid. Awake now. Will be interesting to see when I get tired. 5 hrs ago

Of course, I'm risking cliche. But these are the travails of being an entertainer: in realism vs keep story moving, moving wins 5 hrs ago

Mmm. The extended rise to leader of army plot sequence in this novella will be cut in favor of Duel To Death! Other way is long/boring. :) 5 hrs ago

Thalia's home today sick. Poor kid. Poor Toby's deadline LOL. 17 hrs ago
