ToDo app Things is the bomb

A lot of people are intrigued by posts on todo management and personal efficiency, so I do want to pass on a link to Things. I downloaded it this weekend and have taken quite a liking to both the iPhone version and the OS-X desktop version, making it my current self-management software tool.

You can see a screencast of the app in action here.

There’s a review here, here, and here that cover in depth my same reasons for liking it.

In short, I like:

-that it doesn’t lock up my data in a propriety format, but uses XML, making the file easy to view on any computer
-has iPhone sync to its iPhone app that works quickly and simply
-has a simplified easy-to-get started interface that then offers some behind-the-scenes complexity
-excellent UI, I can scan it easily and navigate simply to get an idea of what all is going on.

The desktop version is in beta, it isn’t perfect (no drag on drop on the shelf), but already I’ve used it more comfortably than previous apps that I’ve tried.

I purchased the iPhone version right after it came out and I’ve been using the desktop beta version for a couple of months now. It’s really amazing. The reviews are probably going to say it way better than I can, but highly recommended!

Also complicating that is fact that Thalia needs to be home tommorow since she has a cold: cough, runny nose, mild fever. 8 hrs ago

I fell asleep at 7:30pm and woke up at 12:30 due to coughing kid. Awake now. Will be interesting to see when I get tired. 8 hrs ago

Of course, I'm risking cliche. But these are the travails of being an entertainer: in realism vs keep story moving, moving wins 8 hrs ago

Mmm. The extended rise to leader of army plot sequence in this novella will be cut in favor of Duel To Death! Other way is long/boring. :) 8 hrs ago

Thalia's home today sick. Poor kid. Poor Toby's deadline LOL. 20 hrs ago
