Findlay gets (Greg) Frost

May 31st 2008 at 6:45 am

Greg Frost hung around the Wisconsin area after Wiscon (a convention held last weekend) a while before making his way down to Findlay last night, which is about 14 minutes drive north of my house, where we both did a booksigning at The Stately Raven.

Greg and I shared a table of contents in the anthology Mojo: Conjure Stories, edited by Nalo Hopkinson, and have run into each other at various conventions. So it was nice to chat with Greg at the signing, grab dinner, and host him at our house where he had a guest room to crash in. After some coffee this morning he took off in his sharp little Mini Cooper (we shared stories of the learning curve that 6 speed stick shift cars take: the reverse is where?).

It’s nice to have an indy bookstore nearby now that some writers will be interested in visiting, I’ve had my guest room offered to friends and SF/F colleagues for 4 years now, but Bluffton isn’t exactly a pass-through destination for a host of SF/F type people, you know? I really do realize I live in flyover/drivepast country LOL.

Now I have more basement contractors who’ll be trooping through today for alternate quotes (they were on Friday as well, making for an odd, constantly unbalanced day) about the whole mold situation and waterproofing project.

Real life marches onward.

Greg Frost is very cool. He’s the gentleman spy of SF authors.

I’m just glad that both of you dodged the WisCholera.

Greg Frost is indeed a cool dood. And yeah, not getting horribly sick at Wiscon was a huge “good thing ™” LOL.

Your host:

Tobias is a Caribbean-born SF/F novelist who lives in Ohio.
