Journal Entry

So here I was, wondering how to write a post pointing out that Russell Davis is running for SFWA president, and it sounds like Andrew Burt is running (but hasn’t posted his running statement anywhere publicly accessible for some… reason) for SFWA president, and what I thought of that, when John Scalzi went and just basically said what needed to be said right here.
Thanks for saving me the time, John, and I do here chime in with a hearty ‘amen!’

Andrew Burt must believe in resurrection; if this doesn’t bring Damion Knight up from his grave, nothing will.
I wonder how badly he’ll lose.

I’m afraid he wouldn’t lose (name recognition, new thrust to use - poor - rhetoric on SFWA public LJ). Then it might be time to check out those nice Romance Writers or Authors Guild people and see what they have to offer.

Of course, that cuts both ways. If Burt is known as a screw-up, people might take a leap of faith on Davis.
