Global Voices has a good round up.
When I was younger we had these Caribbean textbooks. I remember one showing Trini-looking various folk standing around a giant crack in the earth ripping open to reveal boiling magma lying in wait deep underneath.
The pic wasn’t very accurate, but I remember being terrified that I would be walking around minding my own business and that there could be a possibility that the freaking earth could open up and swallow me!
Thankfully it doesn’t look like anyone was hurt in this one. But every time I hear the word earthquake I right away wonder if anyone was swallowed by the giant crack in the ground that I still to this day associate with the word earthquake.
