Vote on my next XBox 360 game
October 30th 2007 at 3:31 pm
I’m torn. I have a gift certificate that arrived via Amazon.com for all the links you guys have clicked via my website. It pays for most of a new XBox 360 game via Amazon, and I’m divided between 4 different games, so I’m actually going to let you all vote in the comments since your clicks are paying for the game.
1) Halo 3
2) Call of Duty 4
3) Assassin’s Creed
4) Bioshock
Each game has it’s cool points. Make an argument for which one I should get.

My Vote is torn between Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed.
Halo 3 has a much improved campaign over Halo 2 but falls short of meeting the storytelling in the first Halo. Multiplayer shines in Halo 3 for me and currently takes too much of my time.
Assassin’s Creed looks pretty amazing and the scale of the environment and freedom reminds me of Crackdown. If I were buying today, I would choose this one unless you are in need of some online multiplayer experiences.

I vote for Bioshock. My husband played through the entire game and loved it. The graphics and gameplay are awesome. The story had even me interested as a viewer. There are two different endings depending on how you played the game. Very cinematic and disturbing - more than just a first-person shooter.

This is no contest for me - Halo 3. Heck, if you want someone to coop with on Campaign or join up for some Matchmaking play, give a yell. I’m always happy to bring another player into the Halo fold.

I can only refer you to my husband’s blog. He had a fairly strong fling with Bioshock:

Halo 3.
Just get it.

Assassin’s Creed because it looks really interesting, or Bioshock because the story’s supposed to be really good.

Bioshock.
Halo 3 was terrible, the mulyiplayer is a bunny hop fest and the single player was dull.

How much do you love multiplayer Halo 2? If the answer is “a lot”, then Halo 3 is probably a good use of your money.
If not, get Bioshock. I’ve played it through twice and I’ll probably play it through again before winter’s out, and that’s a couple of weekends worth of entertainment each time.
The Halo 3 single-player campaign, on the other hand, is criminally short and neither the writing of the story nor the presentation of it are up to the quality of Halos 1 and 2.

Mass Effect.
I know it’s not on the list but that game looks incredible. The things they’ve potentially done to improve the way in-game story is told (particularly the new dialogue system) and the vastness of the world make it a potential number-1 game on the console. Made by Bioware - the same people that did baldur’s gate and star wars: knights of the old republic.

Having said that, Bioshock is fantastic too. The art-deco world and atmosphere it creates is consistently surprising and unsettling.

Anyone who wants to play some multiplayer feel free to add my GT to your friends list.

I’ll actually be on today for the special zombie playlist that is appearing in Halo 3.

I see a certain pattern in your gaming conundrum. I think you need to mix it up, get out of your rut, y’know? Maybe you should get something like….
Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock Bundle.
YEAH BABY, YEAH!!!!!

dude. Bioshock is amazing. Halo 3 is ok…I only play online with other folks.
Bioshock is the way to go…what an amazing storyline…and YOU decide how it ends depending on how you behave during the game…

I have to concure with the Mass Effect. I just saw a post on xboxachievements.org where the achievement list was posted. From following the game since it was announced in ‘05 up to that post, this game looks like it has amazing versitilty and extremely high replay value. I know that I’m on pins and needles waiting for it to come out.
That being said, if you are sticking to those four I would say either Bioshock or Assassin’s Creed. I would pick AC mostly because I’m not that big a fan of FPSs. But I’ve played the demo and it is a truly amazing game. I keep hearing that Halo 3 is really centered on the mulitplayer aspect so that knocks it down on my list.
