Get in the zone
March 25th 2007 at 8:06 am
No, not the auto zone, that other zone. Useful maybe for writers as well, techniques on how to get your flow on while working on stuff.

In the zone is exceptionally fun. I’d have to simply a lot in my life to get back into it, which i’ve been working on simplfying my life. So I’ve been developing my distraction-fu work style.

Looks like great advice - funny, thinking back on some of the more productive spans of writing time I can remember, the “50 minutes on, 10 minute break” model worked really well. Right about then I was finishing a cup of tea and the break gave me just enough time to pull back a bit and maybe redirect my writing for the next 50 minutes, or confirm that I was going the right direction and keep moving. I’ve gotta get back into that…
