Crystal Rain paperback tagline contest winner is…
January 31st 2007 at 4:05 pm
My editor and I conferred briefly today and chose a winner for the Crystal Rain paperback tagline contest.
No escape!
Gabe’s ‘No Escape!’ was the one we chose, although a good runner up for me was Steve Bucheit’s ‘Doomed for sacrifice!’ type line.
Thanks all for playing. Gabe, if you’ll email me your snail mail address I’ll be […]
End of a fun project
January 31st 2007 at 2:04 pm
From April to this month I had a lot of fun blogging at Blogging Ohio, and that wrapped up today. Of course I’ll still be doing lots of blogging at Blogging Stocks, Futurismic, here, as well as some consulting and NDA blogging.
Someone told me that they couldn’t handle freelancing when I told them I had […]
Wii Fitness
January 30th 2007 at 3:35 pm
Can you dig it? This cat lost 9 pounds in 6 weeks playing Wii Sports every day. What’s awesome is he kept body fat results as well as the usual weight results, and did a before and after picture which shows clearly the results. He was pretty fit to begin with, but it’s amazing what […]
Goals updating
January 29th 2007 at 3:42 pm
So one of my goals this year was not just to get that novel done and donate money to charity if I missed my wordcount, but to also better my fitness levels:
I’m exactly 230 pounds, and 22% bodyfat, putting me at just above dead average for an American male, though thanks to working out with […]
And so it goes
January 29th 2007 at 1:30 pm
Not so long ago I blogged about the fact that I’d lost all my identification:
In order to get the driver’s license, I need the social security or alien card.
In order to get a replacement social security card, I need a driver’s license or alien card.
In order to get the alien card, I have to have […]
Lazy Sunday: photo montage
January 28th 2007 at 11:59 am
We’re going to head out to go watch some movies with some friends (I’m hoping Smoking Aces is all the bullet-riddled mindless action adventure I tend to seek out in a large screen major motion picture).
So this morning Emily decided she was going to take the dogs out and unleash them upon the local campus […]
Wii are having a lot of fun today
January 28th 2007 at 10:10 am
Late yesterday I joined my friend Josh and his wife Amber at a Wal-Mart to stand in line for an hour and a half while chatting about this that and the other.
The result? I finally walked out holding the new Nintendo Wii. I came home at 1am and woke Emily up, plugged it into the […]
The writer’s lifestyle
January 26th 2007 at 2:48 pm
Charles Stross nails it here.
I was working up an entry almost word for word like that to explain what it was like here in Case de Buckell. I also want to add an amen to Stross’s:
learn more than you ever wanted to know about international double taxation treaties and the associated exemption forms
I’d never heard […]
Crystal Rain tagline contest ends at 5pm today
January 26th 2007 at 12:09 pm
Also, the Write a tagline for Crystal Rain in paperback, win a copy of Ragamuffin contest is still going on until 5pm today. If you haven’t tried to write an entry yet you still have time.
You’d win a signed early ARC of Ragamuffin:
Novel progress and charity update
January 26th 2007 at 12:00 pm
So every Friday morning I’ll be reporting how much of the 6,000 words that week I got written, and I’ll be paying 5 cents a word to a charity for every word I’m under the goal limit to spur myself onto productivity.
I wrote 5500 words on the novel this week. Not shabby.
Sly Mongoose stands at […]
