Upcoming hangouts
October 31st 2006 at 6:29 pm
I spent a few hours working on a novel proposal at the local coffee shop today, watching the world drive by the window and the temperature drop 4 degrees as I sat there typing away. The dark and dreariness of winter approaches, and I’m already feeling the hit.
Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to finishing up overdue stuff lying around the house before taking off for World Fantasy Con. I’m not on any panels or anything like that, I’m just going to hang out. Pop me an email if you’re hoping to meet up at a particular time, I’ll see what I can do. Mainly I’m just looking forward to chilling with friends.
Someone asked in the comments how I juggle videogames and time management. I tell beginning writers that if they are honestly serious about having trouble finding time to write that they should get rid of the TV and videogames and focus. I’m actually at a point where writing and freelancing is how I make my money, I’m not doing this as a second job, so I added cable and videogames back into my life (videogames after I finished the second novel) because I actually have evenings free (it’s delicious, all those years without evenings, and now I get to feel how normal people live). When I held down an 8 hour job and wrote in my spare time we didn’t have cable, I tried to limit my watching, and I didn’t play videogames all that much.
I still try keep a ‘no videogames on my working computer’ rule going.
