Ragamuffin cover art

August 30th 2006 at 10:56 am

Irene Gallo has posted an interview with Todd Lockwood (the talented man who did Crystal Rain’s cover art) and the progression from thumbnail sketch all the way to final cover for Ragamuffin. You certainly want to check this out.

I’m being so spoiled by Tor in regards to cover art. I’m a real lucky guy.

I like it. Personally, I think the Crystal Rain cover is better, but this one rocks too.

Very cool. Yep, Tobias, you sure are in good fortune when it comes to cover art. Whichever god of publishing is responsible, I suggest making obeisance in plenty this year.

Plus, I love the quote, “What are you working on now?
A six pack of Amber Bock.”

I must say, that is so cool.

  5. 5. Paul Abbamondi

Wow, Tobias! Very awesome cover. :)

    Sweet!

Wow! That’s a great cover. Very cinematic. I’ve even set it as the background of my desktop. T-shirts and posters are now required.

  8. 8. Steve Nagy

I especially like the detail you can see in the enlarged image. Good perspectives.

    Nice cover. :-)

That cover totally rocks. I love it.

Holy sh*t! I’m like super pumped to read this. You got a sista on the cover busting shots. I love it.

  11. 11. Shara

    That’s wild! :)

I say this in all sincerity, Toby: HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

Well, I just finished reading “Crystal Rain” last night (in a 150 page marathon), and now I’m definitely hooked. The cover art here just sweetens the deal and makes the wait that much harder.

    Very nice piece, cheers Tobias.

I saw “you got a sista on the cover” and fled over to check it out.

It *IS* cinematic. I kept thinking of Alien4…

Thank you all, so much, I’m so psyched about it, it’s awesome!

This is exactly the kind of cover that’s been making me pick up books since I was a kid. Too cool.

Jeez, the cover is going to look great. I really love the second to last picture of the woman holding the machine gun. Can you give us a hint at who she is?
