Huh, NY Times Mention
August 25th 2006 at 10:21 am
New York Times gives out a guide to Audiobook Projects supplement to an article about audiobooks populating online, and in probably the only way I’ll ever see my genre-iffic name in that hallowed publication, talks about my Joe Blow Neopro column as read by Alex Wilson:
THE SPOKEN ALEXANDRIA PROJECT Founded in 2004. Mission statement: “To build an audiobook equivalent of Project Gutenberg one text at a time.” Titles available: 5 novels, 15 nonfiction works and 1 poem; spokenalex.org. (More recordings are available for 25 cents to $8 at the sister site telltaleweekly.org.)
Worth downloading: “Most of My Friends Are Two-Thirds Water” by Kelly Link, read by Alex Wilson; “Getting Past Being Joe Blow Neopro” by Tobias S. Buckell, read by Alex Wilson.

Cool. You wouldn’t happen to have the URL for the article, would you?
Here’s something to inflate your ego, I still use the audiobook version of “Getting Past Being Joe Blow Neopro” as a sort of pep talk.

Which might explain the earlier spam attack. Your profile is higher and they were trying to ride your coattails to a wider world.

Heh, I was just coming over to tell you about it. Online versions (of article and sidebar I think) here:

“OMG! Woot!”

That’s pretty cool. You didn’t even have to do something infamous. Of course, anything that makes them talk about you…
