The Meeting Place

April 29th 2006 at 7:27 pm

Hung out at the Lima, Ohio coffee shop ‘The Meeting Place’ to sign books and promote Crystal Rain today from 1-4. It was a great, sunny day, so we didn’t have much traffic, but a handful of books were sold, and The Meeting Place does sell books out of a set of shelves in the back, so I left 4 copies with them.

Before we broke everything down Emily took a picture of me and my very proud mum, who tries to make sure to come out to all the local events.

My next event will be at the Borders bookstore in Toledo, Ohio next Saturday. I’ll post some details when I get them.

Hooray! I found your site. I had come upon your site awhile ago and wanted to buy your book,”Crystal Rain,” but forgot the title and your name! I’m really excited to pick this puppy up. I just got a 30%-off coupon from Borders.

BTW, I came here via link from Pam Noles’ site where I read her “Shame” article. I loved it and your response about poor excuses for a writer not being able to write a character of a different race. If Shakespeare, Stowe and Twain could do so, how could a contemporary person with access to the Internet not be able to do so? Heck, James Patterson has made a fortune on his Alex Cross mysteries by writing an authentic, intelligent African-American character.

But I digress. Ms. Noles unfortunately doesn’t allow comments or include her e-mail address on her blog; so I couldn’t thank her for her article. If it’s not too much to ask, please send her my regards whenever..

Anyway, I have to get your book! It’s so hard finding good sci-fi that features people of color. I’m so excited.

    Geekily yours,

    Brad

Hmm. I don’t think I see a purple scented glitter pen on the table there. :(
