A man who works at what he loves will never work a day in his life.

I stole that and paraphrased it but hell if I know where it came from. I would make the jump if I could but I am still five steps behind you. Good luck and keep us posted.

It's a bold move, with a huge potential pay-off. Congrats and good luck!

How did you feed yourself during Clarion with just $5? (I guess Owen will feed you for six weeks, but they're going to want some more money when you check out.)

Freelancing has been pretty good to me. Last year I made 50% of my once-salary working part time (my weekly goal was ten hours). Granted, I am working in a high paying specialty field. There are challenges as well. One of them is setting limits between work and "home" time and preventing yourself from doing work just because it's there. We can talk more in email. Mayhap I can give you some tips or otherwise share my experiences.

I obviously heartily support this ambition and I hope you can make it work! You're attacking the problem intelligently and with realistic expectations, so it's definitely worth trying--especially with your spouse's support. Good luck!

That's awesome! It sounds scary as hell, but you have a good plan and the determination to follow through. Go for it and good luck!

A little late here, but ... this is awesome. You've got a plan, the talent, and the persistence. You've sent it out there publicly, and in return, I sent out my thoughts that you will succeed.
