Anyone out there really familiar with Atlanta, GA? Emily and I will be there Friday night on our way through driving down to Florida, splitting the drive in half. I’m curious about any killer eating/activities for the both of us around the downtown area.

Hmm, Blogger has changed around a bit. I’m still in the process of trying to wrest away tobiasbuckell.com from a domain name group/webhost group that I signed it up with who won’t let me transfer it. Bastards. Because after that, there should be some big webdesign changes around here…

So, I made the hardest technical choice I’ve made in a long, long time, and am now owner of a new iBook (wimped out of the powerbook 12″).

Philadelphia Worldcon (Milphil) was my first worldcon (01). It was a great experience, and a great first worldcon. I just opened the mail and found a reimbursement check from them. As I won’t get paid next month, I have to say, the timing could not be more perfect. A wonderful surprise.
Thanks guys!

Unless the editor pops in and says otherwise, I’ll keep mum to the place until the rewrite and contract are done, just to stay professional about it, but [...]

Cory Doctorow gets a lot of quotes in that one.
What I particularly found interesting were the descriptions of futures where we have augmented reality, because at that point I wonder what the social impact [...]

Guns, Germs, and Steel is an excellent book. I just finished it last night, and highly reccomend it for understanding how and why civilizations and things are the way they are today.
