I was reading an article about the Phillipines and the trouble they’ve had with the fighting there. It’s sad. But here is the thing that bugged me, the fighters are the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Or better known as MILF.Now, it may be just me, but calling yourself MILF is one quick way for Westerners […]

More reviewing goodness over at Strange Horizons, where J.G Stinson reviews the switch.blade anthology and says this of my story ‘Nord’s Gambit’:
A more predictable plot mars Tobias S. Bucknell’s otherwise-enjoyable “Nord’s Gambit,” which explores the amazing feats of a certain school’s staff — cafeteria cooks who make school food completely tasteless, teachers who can grade […]

I wrote a few weeks ago about how much I’d fallen out of love with the process of buying music, and a few posts down I posted about Apple’s new music service. Awesome reviewing goodness…Pamela Sargent has a super review of Mojo: Conjure Stories up at Scifiweekly:…one of the particular pleasures of this anthology is discovering eloquent new or unfamiliar voices. “Death’s Dreadlocks” by Tobias S. Buckell is a moving story set in a nameless war-torn African country…I’m all warm and fuzzy

Thanks for all the posts below. I am here on Kelly’s Island at a 10 day novel writing workshop. Awesome stuff with awesome people. I got very sick at the start, just recovering.
I’m typing this from the island’s library (open from 5-7pm), so I doubt I’ll be able to keep up much.

April 17th 2003 at 4:50 am

I hate screwing up. Particularly at work. I haven’t read time management books and life skills books, purchased a palm pilot, learned how to integrate it with my computer, and made a conscious effort to use those skills for nothing.See as a student I used none of that, and had a bad memory. When the […]
