In the last 30 days Apple’s default mail program, mail.app, has intercepted 147 pieces of spam correctly, and about 5 snuck through into my regular mail.

Not shabby.

What is also not shabby is that the wonderful David Levine just forwarded me cover pictures of the Land/Space antho. I’ll post them in the morning. Just spent 45 minutes breaking Emily’s car out of the snow and I’m bushed, and I’m getting up early in the morning to deal with more car stuff. Only 4 hours of sleep able to be had for me today.

My Celica was declared totalled. I am being offered a sum that leaves me about $500 in the hole to replace the Celica ($1000 less than what I paid for it 13 months ago). However a local dealership does have a similar model for a decent price. It’s just that paying it would mean I’m right back, carpaymentwise, to where I was 14 months ago (XXXX number of dollars in debt instead of being 1/2 towards owning the car free and clear like I am now).

But I have to get my belongings out of the Celica in the morning, talk to my insurance company to see if they quote a different payout sum, and then I have to start seeing if I can talk AIG into giving me more money, and the dealership into asking less money, so that I can get out of this with a car and no major financial grief.

‘course I could get a lesser car, something a little more modest.

*sigh*

But then it wouldn’t be fun to drive, you see? And if I’m spending an hour a day in a car, it should be an hour a day inside a car that I like.
