Over at Epinions there is a review of Fictionwise.com which includes the following paragraph:
“I should mention here that Fictionwise has also begun publishing all-original anthologies — collections of stories written exclusively for the site — like the recently released (and fantastic) SWITCH.BLADE anthology, edited by Amy Sterling Casil and featuring such great writers as Michael [...]
I’m an ‘E Pluribus Unum’

I’m an ‘E Pluribus Unum’ kinda fella. In diversity there is strength, in the acceptance of others I find the glory of living, and exclusivity is something I strive (sometimes fail) to rid myself of.
So I found this article about the unifying effect of having a marine in the family a good, encouraging, read in [...]

Got a small package from my grandfather. Em and I were curious. What’s in it? We weren’t expecting one. I opened it up when I got home a few minutes ago and found a card and 3 blank CDs and a note.
“Dear Toby,
Could you please find some mp3s and burn them onto these disks?”
Yep, my [...]

I tackle lots of projects. Right now I’m finishing up a column series, the last bit of a short story, mapping out plans for my next 6 short stories, doing research for an article I’d like to publish if my novel ever goes to print about dialect and the modern novel, mapping out the novel [...]

One of my friends really reccomends this book Self Editing For Writers. I’m probably going to order it and a few others really soon, but if you have any comments on it, I’d be interested.
One year later in Afghanistan

One year later in Afghanistan and the West seems to be moving on, and ignoring the place.
This is my biggest argument against invading Iraq on moral grounds. I really don’t think the West will help the populace there.
Now as far as removing a nuclear threat. Yeah, cool. So that is why close monitoring and inspections [...]
Elevator to space. Nothing astoundingly

Elevator to space. Nothing astoundingly new for SF readers, but interesting to look at the pretty pictures and know that someone is estimating the cost and all.
Still, they say 7-8 billion, which is doable, but based on tech that isn’t really off the shelf quite yet.
Cross your fingers, right?

I might get an angry Vegan back on this one, but it just came through IM from my vegetarian sister and I just about bust a gut when I saw it.
Mad Cow
Enjoy.

Ants inyour computer.
Icky.
This headline is funny: Flesh-eating squirrel stalks streets of Knutsford. What makes me maybe wonder if this article is a fake is the name of the town ‘Knutsford.’ That’s just too bloody convenient. Also note that the RSPCA’s senior officer is named ‘Colin Booty.’
Maybe life is indeed stranger than fiction.
Someone in the comments [...]
Is there no one who

Is there no one who will email me at 4:38am in the morning when I am busy procrastinating instead of getting more writing done?
Thought not.
*sigh*, I guess that’s why I choose these weird hours to get work done. No easy outside distractions, although I did spent 1/2 hour organizing my iTunes play list.
Back to work.
