Sick. My throat is swollen

July 29th 2002 at 1:41 pm

Sick. My throat is swollen and swallowing hurts. Took the day off sick from work. A visit to the doctor in the near future is a possibility. My sister compared symptoms and tells me I might have strep.

Driving back from my writer’s workshop in Cleveland last night was wild. Big thunderstorm hit, could hardly see to drive. At one point we pulled into a travel center and had some coffee and waited some it out. Big lightning strikes, quite impressive, but we didn’t get home until 2am, and all night long my throat was just getting worse and worse. Yich.

But, some good news. My story ‘Tides’ has been accepted for the anthology Ideomancer Unbound, which is exciting.

Also, Speculations is taking an article of mine called ‘You Graphed Your What? Musings On Writing My First Novel,’ for their very next issue (in 4 days!), the Fall issue. I had to add a ‘non-fiction’ section to my bibliography. This is really neat for me, one because I really like Speculations and the Rumormill a whole bunch, but two, it is the first article I have sold. So it is another milestone.

I’ll soon have an interview out in August in a webzine. I had an interview for my college alumni magazine once, and a local newspaper, but that was a long time ago, so I’m happy to get to do another one.

So things are clipping along.
