The agent in question had

December 21st 2001 at 6:19 am

The agent in question had some tweaks to make the plot better. Not even so much plot, but POV choice that makes the novel a bit more fun, certainly something I agreed with and had no problem with. The reason he had me read the book was so that we had the same vocabulary and were on the same page. So the upshoot of all this is that he likes the novel, my style, and the gist of it, and wants to represent the finished manuscript. So my goal is to finish this by finals week of next semester (early-mid May 2002) or so. I’ll be plugging away at it fairly steadily. It’s exciting, and truthfully, as I’m looking around and working on it, I’m finding I would rather be working on this story to its completion anyway. I like the outline, the world, and I love the characters. So a new adventure is started in Toby-world. I’m guessing I need to write about 500 polished words a night forward day in day out to make it on the time-table I want. I want to be done by summer so I can hopefully maybe juggle my summer hours to let me start another novel… so this might be a tenous step in the next direction for me.Damn I’m going to miss the numbers of short stories, though. I’m going to have be real good about picking only a few up to work on. This novel must be my primary focus… can’t work the day job and do all of the above…tb
